Tradition tells us that, when the calendar turns, we’re supposed to fix our sights on a goal that we want to achieve in the New Year. But if someone told you that only eight percent of those who make New Year’s resolutions actually succeed in carrying through on them, would you even consider making one? That’s a 92 percent failure rate! That may not come as news if you’ve tried in the past and ended up in that vast majority. However, don’t be discouraged by past failures. Planning ahead and devising a strategy can up your odds of success. Some people make a laundry list of every single thing they would like to accomplish, and, in doing so, give themselves a mountain that’s impossible to climb.
